Has the insurance industry given up on small businesses?

Time to find a new insurance agent

Greetings, esteemed entrepreneurs of small businesses!

I'm sure you've seen the headlines. Major insurance companies are no longer working with certain types of businesses, or they are no longer writing business at all in your state.

This is just one of the current issues in the insurance industry. What you might not be aware of, but felt the effects of, are large independent insurance companies buying up small mom and pop agencies. This is a trend that has ramped up in recent years. The major downside to this is, once a large insurance company buys another, smaller company, they prioritize large businesses. This means anything that makes them a certain amount of money. And if you are a “smaller” business, or a personal lines client, you are outsourced and forgotten.

What does this mean for you? This means you no longer get the customer support you once did, you are not shopped around to multiple carriers for the best coverages and pricing,

Now let's discuss the frustrating issue of receiving untimely customer service. Whether you're a small business owner or a personal lines client, you require assistance promptly. However, if you're stuck in a never-ending cycle of different agents, your chances of receiving accurate information and swift support diminish greatly. This can result in not receiving important updates on your coverage or failing to obtain essential documents for a job. Imagine needing a certificate of insurance or adding your new car to your policy, and being unable to do so in a timely manner.

So, what do you do? You leave the large firms and find someone local to support you. The smaller agency needs your business, just as you need theirs. A small agency will treat you like the priority you are. They do not have the room for error a large multimillion dollar insurance agency has. They will go the extra step for you because they know word spreads.

So, all is not lost. There are good agencies out there to help you. It is a tough time for the insurance industry, but all that means is your insurance agents should be working harder to find you the right coverage. Not quitting on you!

Look locally and find a new insurance partner to help you!
